New poem from the Bard of Bethnal Green
The Old Spot, Woldingham
by Mal Grosch
It is bred to be gentle
It is bred to be kind
It is bred to be tasty
With a nice, crispy rind
In its slow evolution
It is hoped it will swell
So its nearly all meat
For the butcher to sell
We were bred to be gentle
We were bred to be kind
We were bred to give glory
To Our Maker Divine
We have as our function
To mirror our God
To build up the Church
With prayer and the hod
And where the Gloucester Old Spot
is covered with mud
We in our sins are covered by blood.
